Camden County Technical Schools (CCTS) is the only high school in Camden County preparing all of its students for a career along with the traditional high school subjects. CCTS caters to all academic abilities from those cognitively impaired, to students taking Advanced Placement courses. With a full array of extracurricular offerings from sports to clubs to after-school tutoring, CCTS remains the hidden educational jewel of the county!
Every year when I meet with the professionals from the work force who
serve on our advisory committees, they remark how well prepared our
students are as they intern or are employed. Every year when we meet with college representatives, they never fail to mention how well prepared our graduates are for college.
Two decades ago, it was unusual for a graduate of a vocational-technical school to go off to a four-year college. Today, it is expected that our graduates will continue their education in the military, at a postsecondary institution, community college, or a four-year college.
CCTS has articulation and cooperative agreements with Camden County College and Richard Stockton College whereby students can earn dual credit as both high school students and college students in a number of areas. This close alignment also allows some of our students to take courses on the college campus, and college students to take courses at our campuses.
Finally of note, is the changing face of our courses of study. Where once our career clusters centered around automotive, carpentry, plumbing, masonry and cosmetology (to name a few), our ever-changing and evolving curriculum has led way to robotics, engineering, information technology, green technology, performing arts, medical arts and leadership training. Our school not only prepares its students for college, but for a viable career as well!
With more than 35 career choices, CCTS has something of interest for every high school student… from learning culinary arts, drafting, electric, and welding to the careers in business, finance, fashion design and biomedical studies. Come visit us and explore the world of careers along with a challenging high school curriculum, and learn first-hand how CCTS will prepare you for the future.
Sincerely,
Dr. Albert Monillas
