Admission Requirements and
Testing
Admission
Admission is guaranteed only when all program criteria and
responsibilities are met. Enrollment is processed on a first-come,
first-served basis. (Some programs require a physical examination,
immunizations, a high school diploma or GED, and/or entrance
assessment and/or interviews.) The course descriptions on the
following pages list the specific program requirements. All items
must be received by the Office of Adult Education in order for your
application to be processed.
The Technical Institute is a division of Camden County
Technical Schools and anyone 18 years of age or older and not
currently attending high school, is eligible for admission. You may
apply by mailing the application located in the center of the
brochure available through the admissions office, or in person at
either of our two campuses. For more information, please call
856-767-7002, ext. 5435 Monday - Thursday from 8 am - 10 pm or Friday
from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
Requirements and Testing
Prospective students should apply for admission as soon as
possible since class size is limited. Candidates who are currently in
high school should submit their applications in their senior
year.
To apply, just complete the application form and return it to
the Technical Institute, 343 Berlin Cross Keys Road, Sicklerville, NJ
08081. A copy of your high school transcript or General Equivalency
Diploma (GED) is required for many programs and must accompany your
application. Please note that some adult education programs do not
require a high school diploma or GED.
Pre-admission orientations will be conducted in several program
areas. If an orientation is required, you will be contacted. Some
programs may also require a medical examination by your family
doctor. Additional immunizations may be required for health
programs.
A satisfactory rating must be achieved on an entrance
assessment for admission into some programs. To see if this applies
to the program you are interested in, please refer to the course
description. The description will state "Entrance Assessment
Required" if appropriate. If an entrance assessment is required,
HSPTII (High School Proficiency Test) scores that are not more than
five years old may be submitted in lieu of sitting for the placement
test. Successful completion of 60 college credits or more would also
waive assessment. Submit your college transcript with the
application.
For your convenience, you may walk into one of our test sites
during the evening without an appointment. When you arrive, check in
at the main office. A current photo ID must be shown to the proctor
in order to be admitted to the testing room.
