Apprentice
are required to take a minimum of 144 hours of
classroom instruction per year and 48 months of
on-the-job training.
In
order to attend an apprenticeship course , a
student must b employed full-time in his/her
chosen field and must have a company or union
willing to act as a sponsor. A certified
apprenticeship serves both men and women who are
at least 18 years old (unless an under age
applicant is enrolled in a specific vocation
program which provides exceptions.)
All
registered apprentices who successfully complete
their on-the-job and related training requirements
are eligible for completion certificates from both
the federal government and the New Jersey
Department of Education.
