• Special Needs Division: Gloucester Township Campus

This program is designed to help students explore various careers associated with the expanding health care industry. The first two years will focus on introductory theory and applications in keyboarding, anatomy and physiology, and nursing fundamentals I and II. At the end of their sophomore year, students will choose either the non-patient care option or the direct-patient care option.

The non-patient care option will build skills needed for careers such as medical office assistants, medical receptionists, medical transcriptionists, and unit secretaries.

Training in this option will include mathematics for health careers, medical terminology with pharmacology, medical transcription, medical office procedures and applications, professional development and communications.

The direct-patient care option will prepare students for careers as patient care assistants, hospital aides/attendants, multi-skilled health technicians, or certified nursing assistants. Training will include anatomy and physiology, psychology, nursing fundamentals III with EKG, nursing fundamentals IV, and nutrition. Upon completion of Level IV, students either take the Certified Nursing Assistant Examination or the Certified Homemaker Home Health Aide Examination.

Students who meet eligibility requirements may have the opportunity to earn college credits for units of study within this career program.
