This program is designed for students who wish to learn basic principles of design, illustration, and computerized graphics (desktop publishing). Areas of instruction include basic illustration, color, typography, design, including web design, and layout in both manual and computerized processes. Applications are performed using Macintosh computer systems. Students will develop portfolios of their work to show to prospective employers. |
Employment opportunities may include the fields of commercial art and freelance art. Graduates may also open their own design studios. Students who meet eligibility requirements may have the opportunity to earn college credits for units of study within this career program.(top) |

Students enrolled in Printing learn bindery operations, typesetting techniques, press operations and camera and darkroom work. Applications include working with computer typesetting and desktop publishing programs. Offset press skills are taught on large and small presses and instruction is given on two-color presses. Camera and darkroom instruction includes color work and plate making using burning and transfer processes. Layout and design skills are also developed. |

This
program is designed with both a hands-on and textbook (theory)
oriented approach that takes the student through the video
production process step-by-step, teaching the techniques used every
day by working professionals. All phases of the field are addressed
— pre-production, production, and post-production.
The student will develop a video resume of his/her work, which is needed to obtain employment in the field. |
| The program is for those who desire to go into one of the career fields in video, or for those who desire to open their own video production companies. A solid background in communication skills (English) is necessary for this program.. (top) | |
