The Administrative Assistant program is
designed to provide the essential skills students will need to
succeed in a professional office environment. Some of the courses
taught in this program are keyboarding, word processing,
spreadsheet, database, computer applications for business,
accounting, career and leadership development, and office technology
fundamentals. All areas of instruction in this program help prepare
the students for MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist)
certification |
| Students who meet eligibility
requirements may have the opportunity to earn college credits for
units of study within this career program.
Graduates of the program may work as office
receptionists, general office clerks, data entry operators, word
processing operators, office assistants, secretaries, and accounting
clerks. They may also pursue advanced degrees at the college level.(top) |

the financial field. Courses taught in this program include

| Graduates
of the program will be qualified for entry-level positions in the
fields of banking, general business, brokerage, and corporate
finance. They may also pursue advanced degrees in accounting,
banking, finance or other related career fields at the college

The Legal Assistant program is for students who
are interested in pursuing careers related to law. It provides
students with the knowledge and skills needed to gain meaningful
employment in a legal office. Students will develop an understanding
and working knowledge of legal terminology and the structure and
procedures of the courts. They will also learn the basic procedures
for formatting, processing, and transcribing legal correspondence
and documents pertinent to litigation, contracts, torts, criminal
law, estates, family law, real estate, and bankruptcy. Courses
taught in the program include keyboarding, word processing,
spreadsheet, database, legal office fundamentals, business law, and
career and leadership development |

Students who meet
eligibility requirements may have the opportunity to earn college
credits for units of study within this career program.
Upon
graduation from this program, students may pursue careers as legal
office assistants, legal secretaries, legal receptionists, legal
office clerks, and legal transcriptionists. They may also pursue
advanced degrees in law-related fields at the college level.

This program gives students entry-level skills
in a variety of retail operations. It is designed to prepare
students for careers in the sales and marketing fields. Students
receive instruction in all facets of clerical functions involved in
retailing. Advanced level courses concentrate on merchandising,
sales, buying, promotions, advertising, customer service and
wholesaling. In the high school division, students learn these
skills through the operation of a retail store which features
snacks, gift items, balloons, greeting cards and specialty items. In
the Special Needs Division, students learn these skills through the
operation of a Mini Mart in cooperation with Shop-Riteฎ.(top) |
